Honoring Your Birth Story
February 2nd, 1 – 4 pm
at Sadhana Yoga
Birth can be both exhilarating and disappointing all at the same time. Each woman’s experience of child birth is unique from her physical sensations to the emotions that she experiences during the process. Join us for an afternoon of reflection, yoga and discussion with a small group of women. Megan Ellow, LCSW will lead the workshop and help mothers to unpack both the positive and negative aspects of their stories through writing, listening and talking.
Libbie Fiechter will offer gentle yoga suitable for all levels to help participants release stuck energy and invite balance.
This workshop is for mothers at least 4 months postpartum. Please plan to leave infants and children at home.
Tuesday, October 17th 7 pm to 9 pm
Eleanor Gregrory of Sprout Gourmet brings her background as a dietician and a professional chef together to help you plan, prep and prepare realistic and healthy meals for your family.
Managing Your Maternity Leave
Monday, September 18th 6:30 -8 pm
This workshop for expecting moms provides tools for effectively managing your time and energy during maternity leave. Birth is a huge event that deserves attention and preparation, but your postpartum period is equally if not more important in setting you and your baby up for success. Expecting mothers will learn tools and strategies to make the time with their newborn joyful, calm, and meaningful. Second and third time mothers can benefit from this workshop too – this is not a ‘how-to’ class. The workshop includes a workbook for moms to take home that they can use as a reference after baby arrives.
Learn the following:
1. Understanding the postpartum period
2. Setting expectations for your maternity leave at work and at home
3. Preparing your home for you and baby
4. Tools for managing your existing relationships as you become a mother
5. Making a smooth transition back to work
